You don't have to have an explanation for everything.
You don't have to have an explanation for everything.

On my Substack channel, I posted about the Magic of Not Knowing. What I'm talking about is how some Gothic and fantasy romance readers look for rules behind every magical thing. But when I read a Gothic tale--say, C.J. Cooke or Marielle Thompson or Del Sandeen--I don't want a itemized schematic of the made-up world or everything to make absolute sense according to the world's regulations. I love it when the author leaves something to the reader's imagination while filling the moments with true emotion. You'll find that approach in Robert Nathan's romantic fantasy, Portrait of Jennie.
