Substack has become a popular platform for writers who want to share original content directly with their readers. There are lots of reasons that it's so well-liked by authors—flexibility, ownership, built-in networks, and the array of features are well thought-out and actually work.
If you follow me, you know my Substack newsletter is ROMANCE AT THE DARK WOOD'S EDGE, which I launched in February and where I'm sharing stories with gothic-y vibes, while I give you an inside peek on what inspires me and my writing odyssey—long, adventurous, and, hopefully, eventful, with your help.
I know you love stories laced with darkness and passion, so in my first June blog post, I dedicated the month to recommending a few Substack newsletters that explore gothic literature, horrormance, romantasy, and chills-and-thrills type creativity.
This post is the next one in the series, and I've selected two authors who deliver weird and wonderful stories PLUS reflect on their writing lives with insight and humor. Please follow and share!
Substack newsletter: Haunted Hearts
Author Kassandra Cross writes delicious gothic romance with touches of fantasy, monsters, witches, and more. Plus, in her Coven Diaries, she shares about current projects and what she's reading in the genre. If you relish stories of with weird and otherworldly elements, check out HAUNTED HEARTS.
Substack newsletter: Nicolette - Horror Author
For many years, Nicolette enjoyed a robust career writing romance. But she has a horror itch and use Substack to experiment with darker themes. You'll find entertaining fiction (like her drabbles or micro-stories on spooky subjects) as well as good advice based on her expertise in writing craft. Try NICOLETTE - HORROR AUTHOR.
I hope you'll try out these authors. And if you have recommendations that you'd like to make, be sure to thrill the comments box!
